Google and Yahoo Delivery Requirements For Bulk Email Senders You Need To Know About

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital communication, Google and Yahoo have implemented new requirements for bulk email senders, aimed at bolstering security and reducing spam. These changes will directly impact businesses sending over 5,000 emails per day to each respective service provider starting February 2024.

The Three Major Requirement Changes Include:

Email Authentication: Bulk senders must authenticate their emails by using one from the same domain as their website. This means that your "from" email address must align with your domain, such as "@examplestore.com". In addition, setting up DKIM on your domain will further help prevent your emails from being marked as spam.

Easy Unsubscription: Users must be able to unsubscribe from commercial emails with a single click. Avoid multi-page or multi-step unsubscribe experiences.

New Spam Rate Threshold: Google and Yahoo are implementing a new spam rate threshold of 0.3%. Ensure that your customers willingly subscribe to your email list, setting clear expectations regarding the frequency and content they can anticipate. Having a double opt-in process adds an extra layer of assurance, mitigating spam complaints and maintaining compliance.
